Rippers
Rippers is our junior activities program based on the river. The program is specially designed for children aged five to twelve. The program is a great way to help kids learn essential water safety skills, grow their confidence, and make lifelong friendships.
Not only is Rippers a fun way for children to enjoy the river in a safe environment, but it also offers children an educational pathway through the Junior Development Program. This program sets them on the path to becoming a fully rounded participant in both lifesaving and sport - we like to call it 'Serious Fun'.

Rippers – Lake Bonney Community Program (March 2026)
About the program
There has been strong community interest in continuing the Rippers program at Lake Bonney beyond the original project timeframe. In response to this enthusiasm, a dedicated group of local volunteers has come together to deliver a short Rippers program for children and families in the Lake Bonney and surrounding communities.
This community-led program aims to continue building children’s water safety skills, confidence in aquatic environments, and connection to lifesaving, while supporting the longer-term aspiration of returning Rippers to a sustainable, locally led club-based model in the future.
